Our Service

We have extensive experience in advising bereaved families on how to process and deal effectively with the estates of their family members. We can help both with the drafting of a will and the administration involved in closing a person’s estate.

Wills

Making a will is vital if you want to make sure certain individuals are provided for in line with your wishes after you are gone. The only way to ensure this is with a well written legally binding document that will stand up to scrutiny.

If you do not prepare a valid will the rules of intestacy will automatically apply which may not be in line with your wishes. At Hoban Boino we will assist you in making sure your wishes are given effect.

A will is a living document and so it is very important that even where you have a will that it is kept up to date and continues to reflect your wishes as the years go by. We recommend that our clients review their will every few years and sooner in cases where they have acquired additional assets. Our team will provide every client with tailored and comprehensive advice in relation to their estate.

If you would like to arrange an appointment with our expert team contact us by phone or email and we will go the extra mile to ensure that your hard-earned assets are put to the best use for your family and loved ones.

Probate

Probate in Irish law refers to the system that has been established to legally deal with the financial and personal affairs of a deceased individual. It is required to engage a probate officer who can clarify that a person’s will is in order and that all relevant tax has been paid, before any beneficiaries can receive their share of the estate

The reason you may need legal representation during the probate process is that the probate officer in Ireland only deals with undisputed cases. Therefore, if there is any sort of legal challenge by a third party or for example no will recorded, the estate may need to be resolved through the legal system.

We can also guide and advise our clients on all legal considerations that need to be taken in granting power of attorney or a ward of the court.

At Hoban Boino we understand that this can be an emotionally difficult time for a family and for individuals involved in this process, that is why we do our utmost to make things as clear and as straightforward from the outset.

We firmly believe that great client care comes from understanding the needs of our clients and addressing them in a proactive and transparent way.
